13-Foot Snake Explodes after Eating a Gator
submitted: Jun 24, 2008 at 11:59 AM by Marissa C.A 13-Foot non-native Burmese Python attempted to swallow an Alligator whole in Florida, but exploded in the process.

Shocked rangers found the remains of the two animals in the Everglades National Park. The head of the Python was found missing, and the alligator’s tail was found protruding from the snake’s belly. The alligator may have caused the Python’s stomach to explode by clawing at it from the inside.
“Encounters like that are almost never seen in the wild… And here we are,” Frank Mazzotti, a University of Florida wildlife professor, was quoted as saying by the Associated Press news agency.
Apparently, the two reptiles were vying for superiority over the other. If the python could eat the gator, than it could eat anything in the swamps and beyond.
Burmese Pythons are not naturally found in the everglades. Oftentimes they are dumped by their owners in the swamp, where they thrive due to the warm climate.
