About:
THE JOURNEY INTO DARKNESS RETURNS IN 2007 WITH ALL NEW FEARS TO ENCOUNTER! 2007 place to be announced. Do you have a cool place around Albany we could use for our haunt?
History:
It all started in 1983 when I worked my first "Campus Life Haunted House" in Miami, Florida. I loved the experience so much that I worked each night they were open over a 30 day period and volunteered to work each room inside. I started in the Dungeon, then moved on to the Black and White Checkerboard Room, the Ghostly Banquet chowing down on worms and monkey brains, and several other great roles until I finished working the "Temple of Doom". The following year I was able to start working with them during the building process where I learned valuable secrets to putting these events together. In 1986 my family left Miami and ended up in Albany, Georgia. The only show around back then was the Jaycees show, which was small and very low budget, yet entertaining for what they had to work with. It took me till 1990 before I was back in the Halloween business. I was approached by my sister who managed a local apartment complex and was asked to build a haunt for their annual Halloween party. It started out in a kitchen(really small yet ambitious), then we scored an entire apartment to "spook up" before ending up in the Club House. In here we built the entire floorplan in a large empty room. In 1994 the Great Flood of South Georgia hit and washed away the apartments as well as all my props. After some rebuilding I started a yard haunt in 1998 and 1999 which was very popular and got the attention of a local civic club who offered me the chance to go commercial again in an old building in Downtown Albany. This became the largest and most successful Halloween event in the area raising many dollars for local charities. People traveled from all over to visit. In 2004, we celebrated our 5th Anniversary Scareabration in the location, and then in 2005 became known as "FrightNights", the name that we have adopted permanently. FrightNights..... Throughout the years in Downtown I have been very fortunate to work with a GREAT cast. Of course my wife Simone has been very supportive and helpful to me as well as understanding of this "weird"fascination. Without her contributions there would never have been the first Downtown event. But my cast has been the best. If you are building a haunt you want these guys and gals with you. Check them out on the picture pages. These are the folks who make this record breaking event what it was, and what it is.
